8- Waste heat from the compression should be kept as low as possible

Law of Physics define that the power needed to compress Air is 100% converted into Heat !

For most people difficult to understand !  They will ask, what about the efficiency ?  To compress Air, the amount of energy needed can be different, however, all the used energy will be 100% converted into heat !

The more efficient the Air-compressor is, the less heat will be produced.  

All heat available is becoming waste heat and could be used in other applications, such as heating of water for showers, heating systems or on other processes such as pre-heating to avoid burning fossil fuels.

The primary goal is of course to produce as less as possible heat, than the most efficient air-compression has been used !  The recovery of heat for other applications, does not justify to use a less efficient air-compressor !

Some ridiculous configurations are being promoted, for example : reducing the efficiency of a centrifugal air-compressor, to increase the outlet temperature, and thus improving the heat-recovery system.

The goal must always to use the most Energy efficient Air-Compression systems, to minimize the waste heat !  The remaining waste heat can be used via heat recovery.
