6- Compressor room control is a must
The compressor room consists mostly of multiple compressors to handle the variating flow.
A compressor room control, regulates the different air-compressors in function of the demand. In partial load, many types of compressors do not run efficiently.
Good to know is that :
- Centrifugals, when running below 80% its capacity starts to blow off the compressed air which is very inefficient.
- Oil-injected screw compressors in un-load conditions, have a very bad transient performance resulting in very high power consumption in partial load. A variable speed compressor for Oil-flooded screw compressor is a necessity.
- Variable speed Oil-free screw compressors performance deteriorates when speeding down, the volumetric losses increase dramatically
- Industrial Recip's have a very good partial load efficiency
A Compressor room control can reduce the losses by regulating the combination of different compressor types and units.
