10- Usage of compressed air should be reduced (leakage reduction, air consumption minimalisation)

The best way to reduce the Energy of Compressed Air is not to use Compressed Air when it is not needed.  Compressed air has many benefits and is in many cases the best solution for certain applications.

Compressed Air is detremental is applications such as Breathing air, or production of Wafers, production of nitrogen... and thousands of applications where the Comrpessed Air is a necessity.  In the early days, compressed air was used as an energy source, which is an In-efficient usage.

Some examples where Air has been replaced by electrical or hydraulic systems are the replacement of Pneumatic tools by Electrical and battery driven tools.   Electrical motors are more energy efficient than Pneumatic motors.

Pneumatic motors have the benefit of being light and compact but are energy in-efficient.

Using Compressed Air for the right application  is justified.  In some cases, the consumption can be reduced by avoiding excessive air-consumption.

some examples :
- Use compressed air as energy source : compressing air to use compressed air as energy source is not efficient.  An example of crazy developments was driving a car with an air-motor !  If all cars would drive on compressed air, it would be a environmnet catastrophy !
- Reduce air-leakage : in the piping systems down-streams, connections, fast couplings etc, start to wear, which results in air-leakages.  Air leakages is a pure energy loss and shoulld be avoided by a good maintenance plan.  Similar to replacing parts in your mechanical equipment, replacing seals and o-rings should regular take place to reduce and avoid air-leakages.
- Use manufacturing process and air-consuming equipment with the least air-consumption.  Although not accurately specified, the air-consumption of different system suppliers can be different.
